Naalya Schools Register Historic Partnership with Buganda Kingdom to Expand Educational Opportunities
In a significant milestone for educational development in the region, Naalya Secondary Schools have taken a major step towards a formal partnership with the Buganda Kingdom. Today, Dr. Mpoza John Baptist, Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Bweyogerere campus, represented the Director of Naalya Secondary Schools (Namugongo, Bweyogerere, and Lugazi campuses), Dr. Livingstone Ddungu, at a high-level meeting held at the Kingdom Ministry of Education offices.
The delegation was received by the Minister of Education for Buganda, Ow'ekitiibwa Cotilda Nakate Kikomeko, who lauded the visionary leadership of Dr. Livingstone Ddungu. The Minister commended Dr. Ddungu for establishing Naalya Schools, institutions that have become beacons of academic excellence and have played a transformative role in providing quality education to the children of Buganda and the nation at large.
During the cordial discussions, Minister Kikomeko proposed a formal collaboration between the Kingdom and the Naalya Schools. This partnership is set to be a game-changer, as it will facilitate the Kingdom in sponsoring students to attend Naalya Schools through various bursary schemes administered by the Kingdom.
"This partnership is not just about tuition; it is about building the future of our Kingdom," said Minister Kikomeko. "We are confident that Naalya's commitment to holistic education makes it the ideal partner to nurture the next generation of leaders."
In a further demonstration of the commitment to cultural preservation and community spirit, the Minister also requested the establishment of the Zambogo Association across all Naalya campuses. The Zambogo Association, a cultural group, is expected to foster a sense of identity, unity, and cultural pride among students, linking the school community more closely to the traditions of the Kingdom.
Dr. Mpoza, receiving the proposal on behalf of Dr. Ddungu, expressed the school's profound honor and enthusiasm for the partnership. "Naalya Schools have always been dedicated to inclusive and quality education," Dr. Mpoza stated. "We are deeply honored by this recognition from the Buganda Kingdom.
