Prefects’ Official Handover of Office to the Cabinet 2026

It was a day of honor, reflection, and renewed commitment as Naalya Secondary School Lugazi Campus held its official Prefects' Handover Ceremony, marking the transition from the 2025 cabinet to the newly Elected student leaders for the year 2026.


The ceremony, which took place at the school's main hall, was graced by the school administration led by the Headteacher, Mrs. Ritah Mutaawe Mubiru, alongside the Deputy Headteachers and members of staff. The event was also well-attended by students and invited guests who gathered to witness the symbolic transfer of leadership.

The outgoing Prime Minister addressed the congregation, delivering a heartfelt farewell speech. He reflected on the journey of the 2025 cabinet, highlighting the milestones achieved, challenges overcome, and the lessons learned during their tenure. He expressed gratitude to the school administration for their guidance and support, urging the incoming cabinet to lead with integrity, discipline, and a sense of purpose.


In her speech, the Headteacher, Mrs. Ritah Mutaawe Mubiru, extended her sincere appreciation to the outgoing cabinet for their tireless service and dedication to the school. She commended them for their exemplary leadership and contributions towards maintaining discipline and fostering a conducive learning environment throughout the year.

“Your service has not gone unnoticed. You have left a mark on this institution, and we are proud of your commitment. As you move on to the next chapter of your lives, carry the values of Naalya with you,” she said.


The Headteacher also encouraged the incoming cabinet to uphold the school’s legacy of excellence and to serve their fellow students with humility and resilience.



The Prime Minister Elect, in her response, pledged to build on the foundation laid by the outgoing cabinet. She promised to lead with transparency, teamwork, and a student-centered approach, ensuring that the voice of every student is heard and valued.

The ceremony concluded with the official handover of instruments of power, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the school's student leadership journey.

As the new cabinet assumes office, the entire school community looks forward to a year of progress, unity, and continued excellence under their stewardship.
