11th/APRIL/2026 – Naalya Secondary School today officially commissioned a newly constructed classroom block at its Lugazi Campus in a ceremony presided over by the Rtd Bishop Jackson Matovu, Board Of Governors, school administration, staff, students, and invited guests.

The two‑storey facility, which comprises eight modern classrooms, was declared open following the successful completion of construction works. The commissioning marks the culmination of a few‑month infrastructure project aimed at addressing growing student enrolment and improving the overall learning environment at the campus.

Key features of the new block include:
· Spacious classrooms with enhanced natural lighting and ventilation
· Acoustic ceiling panels to reduce noise interference between floors
· Dedicated power outlets in each room to support future e‑learning initiatives
· Separate, upgraded sanitation facilities for male and female students
· A ground‑floor staff workspace for lesson preparation and student consultations

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the HeadTeacher of Lugazi Campus stated: "This facility represents our unwavering commitment to providing learners with an environment that fosters academic excellence. Today, we move from congestion to comfort, from limitation to opportunity."

The Represenrative of the Director of Naalya Secondary Schools added: "This commissioning is not an end but a beginning. We shall continue investing in infrastructure that matches the quality of instruction our teachers deliver. I thank the Board of Directors, the Parents, and all stakeholders whose contributions made this project a reality."

With the new block now operational, the school has effectively reduced average class sizes by approximately 25 percent and eliminated shift‑based teaching for core subjects. The additional space will also accommodate remedial instruction and small‑group learning activities.
