Naalya Secondary School Bweyogerere Campus Joins Bulungi Bwansi to Celebrate Kabaka’s 33rd Coronation
In a spirited display of community service and cultural pride, Naalya Secondary School Bweyogerere Campus took part in the Bulungi Bwansi (Voluntary Community Cleaning) exercise as part of the preparations for the 33rd Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
Led by the Headteacher, Mr Okong David, students and staff members joined forces to clean Hasan Trabi Hospital in Bweyogerere, ensuring that the facility was spotless ahead of the celebrations. The exercise saw learners and teachers sweep, pick litter, and tidy up the hospital premises.
Bulungi Bwansi which translates to “community good” in Luganda is a cherished cultural programme of the Buganda Kingdom that mobilises communities to participate in voluntary communal activities. This year’s Coronation Anniversary is being celebrated under the theme “Fortitude as We Preserve Our Heritage,” with community service activities forming a key part of the programme.
The participation of Naalya Secondary School in this initiative reflects the school’s commitment to community engagement and responsible citizenship values that the school consistently instils in its learners. By taking part in Bulungi Bwansi, our students not only contributed to a cleaner environment but also learned the importance of volunteerism and cultural heritage preservation.
