The Naalya Secondary School Namugongo Campus community has officially welcomed its new student leaders following a free, fair, and transparent electoral process conducted by the school’s Electoral Commission.
Presiding over the declaration ceremony today, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mr. Magumba Ali, presented the certified results to the student body and the school administration. The atmosphere was charged with excitement and school spirit as the winners were announced in the presence of the entire student populace.
In a landmark result, the office of the Prime Minister was awarded to Hon. Ochan Nicholas, a Senior Five student. Hon. Ochan was officially declared the Prime Minister Elect after securing the majority vote in the highly contested race.
Following the announcement, the newly elected leaders were presented to the students. The ceremony served as a pivotal moment for the school, marking the official transition of leadership responsibilities and setting the tone for the 2026/2027 academic term.
In his address, Mr. Magumba Ali commended all candidates and students for conducting themselves with maturity and discipline throughout the campaign period and the voting process. He urged the student body to rally behind the newly formed cabinet to ensure the successful implementation of their manifestos.
"We are proud of the democratic process we have upheld today," stated Mr. Magumba.

"The students have spoken, and we are confident that the new administration, led by Prime Minister Elect Ochan Nicholas, will serve the school with integrity and diligence."
The new Prime Minister Elect, Hon. Ochan Nicholas, has already pledged to foster unity and improve the welfare of the students through collaborative leadership and engagement with the school administration.
The new cabinet is expected to be sworn in later this week and will immediately begin working on their outlined priorities for the campus.
